AC SEMINAR HALL

The institute has the proud distinction of maintaining of fully equipped seminar hall with modern audio-visual aids. Besides hosting the monthly student assemblies addressed by the Director in order to interact with the students , the seminar hall also hosts various academic activities , extension lectures, educational and training programs for the students and faculty.

The conferences and lectures not only provide the students with a first hand information about the working of various fields but also gives them an opportunity to get their doubts cleared by asking more and more questions from the faculty members and the Director as well.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The mission of the Central Library is to facilitate creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and providing for value added services.

All students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are permitted to make use of library facilities. The library has a huge collection of books on Computer Application, Management, Environmental Study, Network Programming and Computer Programming Language books offers library services through its various divisions.

e-journals have been subscribed through DELNET -AICTE consortium. Access to these Journals is made available to all the staff and students. Many transactions, journals, magazines, newsletters, proceedings can be accessed though this Digital Library.

INTERNET LAB

Twenty systems connected to LAN with Internet facility are provided for the Students. They can use the facility for their project work, preparation for seminars and paper presentations, online access to journals, e-books and study material. Intranet facility is provided to access the previous question papers, teaching schedules, internal marks, attendance, daily circulars etc.

AUDIO – VISUAL CENTRE & LECTURE DVD’S

DVD’s comprising the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) / lectures which were procured from all IIT’s are kept open for students and staff for subject reference. Staff and students can refer these DVD’s in the seminar halls.

BOOK BANK SCHEME

Many students opted for book bank scheme which have no costs for the entire course. This scheme runs on the premise that each student should posses at least three text book for subjects throughout his/her semester study.

Procuring these books from the market is arduous and expensive proposition and also some editions are not available in the market. Book bank scheme is devised to overcome this problem. Large number of students are availing this facility.

DIGITAL & AC CLASSROOMS

Developments and changes are the laws of nature. This technology has already crept in and it can cater to the needs of diverse spheres like – colleges. This is the outstanding technology that’s going to be the face of the new era – the Digital Classroom.

There is adequate number of classrooms in campus for the students enrolled in our college. Classrooms are well furnished and designed as per International standards to ensure effective teacher-student interaction. They are also equipped with WiFi Enabled Classroom with A.C. along with LCD projectors and a host of other contemporary teaching aids.

UPGRADED LEVEL OF SMART CLASSROOMS

Blackboard and chalk had been replaced by Whiteboards and the time has come to upgrade the level of Smart Classroom and replace whiteboards by Digital Writing Pad and Pen. With this methodology one can overcome the disadvantages and limitations of the Whiteboard methodology or the Smart Classrooms. All that the teachers teach through text, drawings, graphs, presentation and the like can be demonstrated to the student through the digitally using Wifi Connection. Teacher can also highlight or underline a particular point while explaining a particular concept without blocking the vision of the student as is the problem with the White boards.

PGI Provides sophisticated and modern teaching facilities that are constantly updated and upgraded. Each & Every department at the BGI boasts of an array of highly advanced & developed Computer laboratories that are adequately and sufficiently equipped with the latest apparatus and instruments.

HOSTEL

College has one Boys and one Girls hostel. All required facilities for comfortable stay is available in hostel for students. Both are situated in walking distance of the College campus. There are various facilities in hostels like – canteen, drinking water, water for bath, Electricity, Cupboard, Bed, Fan etc.. However, viewing time is pre-defined. In Campus Dispensary Facility is available for Hostellers.

Hostel accommodation is allotted to students strictly on merit basis during the first year.

General Rules

  • Allotted room will not be changed/swapped without permission of the Warden No change in the position of the furniture is allowed in the room.
  • The student should bring his own bed sheet, blanket, etc,
  • The student will be held responsible and will be suitably fined if he damages any furniture or fixture in his room or of the hostel premises
  • It is obligatory on the part of the student seeking admission in the hostel for the first time to introduce his parents or local guardians to the Warden.
  • Student must put off the lights, Fan and close the water taps before they lock their rooms. All students in the room will be penalised if lights, fans are seen ‘ON’ in locked room.
  • Students should not use any type of electric heating appliance, iorn as well as Radio, Transistor and Tape Recorders in their rooms. The student will be fined if such appliances are found in the room and also the said appliances will be confiscated and will not be returned.
  • Making noise or talking loudly in the hostel is forbidden.
  • Students should maintain discipline and peaceful atmosphere in the hostel as well as in mess and reading hall.
  • Each student will be given hostel Identity Card. This card must be shown to the watchman/Warden if asked for.
  • Students should keep their rooms clean, neat, and tidy and maintain hygienic conditions so asto keep diseases away. Make use of dustbins.
  • Students should not play any outdoor games such as Cricket, Volleyball etc. in the hostel premises, otherwise they will be fined.
  • Students are advised not to possess excessive cash and valuables like gold-rings, chains etc in the room. If kept, it should be entirely on their own responsibility.
  • In case of illness or any other emergency, the Students should immediately report to the Warden for further appropriate action in the matter.
  • Students should not get involved in any kind of Ragging Activity otherwise strict action at hostel and college level will be taken.
  • Smoking, Chewing tobacco or pan, spitting as well as consuming alcoholic drinks is strictly prohibited. In case of violation of the rule in hostel or campus, he will be rusticated from hostel immediately. In that case hostel fee will not be refunded.
  • Celebrations of parties, playing with dry/ wet colours or with plain water, using crackers insides hostel premises are not allowed.
  • Misbehavior with Security guards/watchman/ mess staff/Waiters/ or any other official of the hostel will be treated as an act of indiscipline.
  • Indulgence in any kind of undesirable activity will be treated as breach of discipline. Such students will not only be fined but may also be expelled from the hostel immediately and the fees will be forfeited.
  • For the purpose of discipline and convenience, the Warden reserves the right to change the room of the student.
  • Any suggestion regarding the improvement in hostel facilities should be made to the hostel Warden orally or in writing.
  • Mess Rules

    • Every student seeking admission to hostel is advised to complete the formalities of mess.
    • Only pure vegetarian food will be provided.
    • Students should not bring any kind of outside food in the hostel room.

    Guests And Visitors

    • Friends, parents and guests are not allowed to stay in the hostel.
    • Visitors will be allowed in the hostel premises from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. only

    CANTEEN

    A Canteen plays a vital role in removing tensions and refreshing students. The college canteen is fairly provides enough and delicious at affordable rates. PGI college has the facility of the spacious, clean and hygienic canteen.

    The college has a canteen inside the campus in which a variety of food is available at most nominal rates. The canteen opens on all working days. It provides all types of nutritious and hygienic eatables and beverages to cater to the students, staff, and visitors.

    Safety and Security

    • Campus safety is a cumulative responsibility of employees, students and other staff. PGI guards are always there & 24×7 available to help you no matter what the situation or condition is. if any students have any query or suggestion related to activities that don’t appear to be safe or conductive to a positive learning experience than the PGI guards are always there to sort the problems as soon as possible
    • PGI has a policy that provide an employment, educational and business environment which is free of discrimination based on color, race, age gender religion, disability or national origin.
    • • Directors, trustees, administrators, faculty and other staff of PGI will not engage or indulge in conduct constituting discrimination, unlawful harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence or stalking.

    SPORTS

    With the objective of developing a Sound Mind with a Sound Physical Health, overall personality of students is dealt with prime priority at Patel Group of Institution.

    At PGI College, we emphasize on Sporting and allied activities keeping a pace with Academics. The college encourages students to attain sporting excellence and provides all the necessary facilities and equipment to the students for maintaining physical fitness and good health.     A full fledged Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation.

    The College runs multiple buses for providing transport facility to students from various places in the Mehsana district. The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.

    The students intending to avail the transport facility need to inform the transport officer at the time of admission.
